Q: Will there be a female only comp?
A: Yes! When you go to pre-register, simply tell us you want to compete in the Female Only Comp!
Q: What is expected in the different divisions?
A: The judges are looking for you to pull off the most rad tricks you can come up with! Better tricks equal better points which then equal better prizes!
Q: Why do I have to pre-register?
A: We'll have to cap off the number of riders somewhere, so if you pre-register, we're holding a spot for you in the competition. This will also help us to know how many competitors we will have for each division.
Q: How many riders/skiers are you allowing in each comp?
A: Probably 25-30 in each to stick within our time limits.
Q: What if I've never tried riding a rail before, should I join the comp?
A: If it's your first time riding a rail you should probably have some decent skills already riding. We suggest coming on Friday, February 27th and testing the ramp to see if you're comfortable with competing.
Q: I heard this starts on Friday, is that true?
A: Yes, on Friday we will allow riders to come inspect the ramp, take free runs, and complete early final registration. There will be no comp this day, but we suggesting coming to meet the judges, gather basic information about the event, and mingle with some of the other riders in your division that you'll be going head-to-head with.
Q: Should I join the email list or text list?
A: We suggest both! We're not going to sell your email address or your phone number and you get instant updates on the event. Best of all, the services are free.
Q: I just want to come watch the event, do I have to pay to get in?
A: No way. It's completely free to all spectators and guests for all three days of Rail Jam 2009.
Q: Is there an age limit to enter?
A: In order to enter the competition you need to be at least 10 years of age with a parent/guardian signature if you are a minor. To watch the event as a spectator, all ages are welcome!
Q: Will there be alcohol at this event?
A: We will have a beer tent and bars set up serving liquor sponsored by SKYY. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase by guests who have valid ID and are over 21 years of age. Please drink responsibly.
Q: What type of entertainment should we expect?
A: We have a great line up of local bands and DJs. Our current entertainment list still has open time slots to fill. After we have all of our entertainers confirmed, we will be posting the band/dj names online. Stay tuned...
Q: What type of elements will be available to hit on the main ramp?
A: Well that's all part of the fun isn't it? Surprise! We'll have at least one rail, most likely a box 12" wide, possibly a down-flat-down, and a kicker. You'll have to come see :)
